چکیده
A century after the first attempts of Wentworth to characterise shape cobbles, our understanding particle morphology is still expanding. plethora indices has been proposed in literature individual particles. This study aims shed light on merits and limitations currently used elongation, flatness compactness, adopting a unified classification framework. Second, new are address identified shortcomings. Third, system derived from illustrated. It shown overcomes misclassification range particles that incorrectly classified as bladed Zingg system.

A New Form of Fuzzy Α-compactness
Abstract. A new form of α-compactness is introduced in L-topological spaces by α-open L-sets and their inequality where L is a complete de Morgan algebra. It doesn’t rely on the structure of the basis lattice L. It can also be characterized by means of α-closed L-sets and their inequality. When L is a completely distributive de Morgan algebra, its many characterizations are presented and the re...
متن کاملQuantifying Urban Form: Compactness versus ‘Sprawl’
This paper develops a set of quantitative variables to characterise urban forms at the metropolitan level and, in particular, to distinguish compactness from ‘sprawl’. It first reviews and analyses past research on the definitions of urban form, compactness and sprawl, and corresponding quantitative variables. Four quantitative variables are developed to measure four dimensions of urban form at...
متن کاملMixed Strong Form Representation Particle Method for Solids and Structures
In this paper, a generalized particle system (GPS) method, a general method to describe multiple strong form representation based particle methods is described. Gradient, divergence, and Laplacian operators used in various strong form based particle method such as moving particle semi-implicit (MPS) method, smooth particle hydrodynamics (SPH), and peridynamics, can be described by the GPS metho...
متن کامل(Bi)simulations up-to characterise process semantics
We define (bi)simulations up-to a preorder and show how we can use them to provide a coinductive, (bi)simulation-like, characterisation of semantic (equivalences) preorders for processes. In particular, we can apply our results to all the semantics in the linear time-branching time spectrum that are defined by preorders coarser than the ready simulation preorder. The relation between bisimulati...
متن کاملControl-Affine Systems Compatible with the Multi-Chained Form and Their X-Maximal Flatness
In this paper, we introduce the concept of x-maximal flatness. A control system is x-maximally flat if the number of new states gained by each successive derivation of the flat output is the largest possible. Firstly, we show that the only control-linear systems that are xmaximally flat are those that are static feedback equivalent to the m-chained form. Secondly, we generalize that result from...
